l have a 1992 Dodge Colt that l have to spay starting fluid into the intake to get it to start. Once running it will not stay running unless l pinch off the return line off the fuel rail. If the line is pinched off the car runs, but at a high idel. I am not sure if this is a fuel pressure regualtor or some very expensive sensor, please help.

Help on a 1992 Dodge Colt that needs the return fuel line pinched to run

the fuel pressure regulator is bad on it,its letting the fuel by pass the the injectors and return to the tank,if you,ll replace the regulator it will run right,we bought a new one of those and it did that at about 30 thousand miles, its a simple repair to make, good luck with it
